Then, she humiliates him in front of a bunch of people while she forces him into talking to her. Now, she's continuing this belief that he's avoiding things?
"Maybe," Aidan said, keeping himself from raising his voice by talking through clenched teeth instead, "It's personal. Maybe I don't want to talk about it. Maybe a lot's happened in the past twenty-four hours and I'm tired and I want to go to bed because I have to wake up early tomorrow and go to classes with them all day."
He brought his head down to his hands and rubbed his face. "And things are even worse now," he added.
"Cause it's true." A shrug rolled off her shoulder, and ignoring the look. Aidan's looks weren't all that harsh, considering he was being a dramatic teenage boy with all the decorations right now. It didn't even occur to her that he was probably humiliated by the hex since she never cared about what others thought, but she was very much aware of how he wanted space right now. And had he been anyone else she would have given it to him.
She let him say his piece, watching him with carefully, patiently waiting for him to finish what he was saying, and only when she was sure he was done did she bother speaking again in a equally low tone.
"Worse how?"
