"Yeah, definitely that," Tobias eventually managed to respond and he took a seat and rested the pogo stick up against his knees... but keeping the part that usually hit the floor resting on top of his foot. Just because he was overly conscious about touching anything in here. "But also neat like 'super fantastically cool'." Like, for instance, those models. Toby couldn't help but to turn around in his chair to star at them a bit more as he listened to the explanation, nodding every now and then to show he was listened. Middle shelf, third from the left... Tobias' eyes sought the very one Airey was talking about and he grinned a little, before whipping back round to look at the man. "Really?!" he beamed. CHYEAH he'd want to try his hand. "Yeah, that'd be awesome!"
Neat. NEAT. All kinds of neat.
Now he was sat down there came the difficulty of sitting still. Tobias took a moment to take in the room a bit more, his gaze lingering on the tie display case with all its COLOURS. Meanwhile his hands fidgeted with his robes and each other and his knee bounced continuously. "You said there was something you wanted to talk to me about Professor...?" the Hufflepuff said to the man, but still looking at the tie display case for a lot of the sentence. He eventually dragged his gaze away from it to look at Airey and gave him a BIG TOBY SMILE. Airey attempted to muffle an amused chuckle at Mr. Tempus. NASA probably sounded more impressive than the reality of the matter was. He had never made it into space or held a position in Mission Control, although he had delved into many other areas. It still pained him thinking about the one dream he had hoped to attain and even wished on "shooting stars" as a child had been the one thing that had not come true.
See how pointless it was to wish on comets? You just ended up disappointed.
Thankfully conversation was back on his mecha models, as it often did in his office. He couldn't blame students. They were pretty fantastic things. The whole mecha concept was fascinating. Very creative, muggles were. He would like to see wizards construct such massive pieces of metal and make them do the things they did in science fiction without the means of magic. He was convinced that it would be a nearly impossible feat. Wizardingkind was too dependent on magic as a means to make things happen. At least in his personal opinion.
"Ah yes, there is something I would like to ask you about," he said as he summoned two cups and filled them with tea - a special herbal blend with the slighted hint of honey to it - and then passed one to the Huffflepuff. "You may not be aware, Mr. Tempus, but I am one of the staff sponsors for the school's yearbook, along with Professor Romanos. We were wondering if you would be interested in joining it, as a writer. Your work ethic and school spirit are stellar and just the sort of thing our team needs to keep working efficiently."
Mmmmmmmmmmmmhmmmm. Tea was delicious, wasn't it?
