Sometime in the summer after the results of his OWLs had sunk in, Alec had been all set to head to the first Arithmancy class of the term, greet Hadley and hopefully, hopefully, be able to get a big hug from her at some point. Only because of his Arithmancy OWL grade. Because he was hoping to make the woman proud.
But no.
What with Hadley going over to the Muggle Studies side of things, Alec was really confused, and slightly curious, as to who was going to be taking over for Arithmancy. Especially since the person hadn't arrived at the feast. So... when he saw that the lesson was written out for this day, he had made sure to head down to the classroom somewhat early but not early enough to be one of the first people there, as he found out when he entered the classroom.
Was that... paint? And cauldrons brewing potions? They... weren't going to be working things out on parchment?
Alec looked around at all the new additions before his grey-blue eyes landed on yet another addition. Professor, yeah? "Hello Professor!" he called, smiling a little at the man, "Welcome to Hogwarts!" Or was it welcome back? He... didn't know. "Erm... I'm Alec Summers, by the way." Introductions. Yeah. He readjusted his grip on his bag, gave the man another smile before heading over to sit down on an empty seat near the front of the classroom. It was as he was taking his seat that his eyes landed on the chalkboard and... he let out a small chuckle.
