Universal Studios Japan has announced that it will begin taking auditions for various roles this August and September for their upcoming Wizarding World of Harry Potter, set to open in late 2014 in the city of Osaka. Some of the roles up for grabs include Beauxbatons dancers (which requires a history of ballet), male actors for Ollivanders and the Hogwarts Express conductor, and various female Hogwarts students who are prefects or part of the singing choir.
Those who live in Australia and are interested in the roles can
register right here; the list of audition times and locations are below.
Numerous cities in the United States will also have auditions for the Harry Potter Japan park roles this upcoming week, including Chicago, Orlando, and New York City (unfortunately the try-out dates for Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, and Hollywood have since passed). London's auditions will take place the first week of September. Please

Female Dancers: Universal Studios Japan features grand productions and fun, energetic musical shows starring amazing Female Ballet Dancers.
Universal Studio Japan is looking for:
Dancers should have strong ballet technique and can play high school age for the Triwizard Tournament Experiences in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™.
To be considered for a role at Universal Studios JapanŽ, all performers must:
• Be at least 18 years of age on the day of the audition.
• Have a valid passport or the ability to obtain one in a timely manner.
• Be willing to relocate to Osaka, Japan for up to 13 months. Contract lengths vary depending on the role.
• Be willing to work outdoors.
Dancers, please:
1. Arrive 30 minutes prior to allotted audition time.
2. Bring a non-returnable resume and black and white OR colour headshot.
(Please keep resume and headshot separate - do not staple or attach them).
3. All Dancers will learn a ballet combination. Bring/Wear suitable dance attire and shoes for a ballet dance combination (demi point or jazz shoes).
4. All call-backs will usually occur on the same day. Please keep the whole day available.

To be considered for a role at Universal Studios JapanŽ, all performers must:

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ is coming to Universal Studios JapanŽ. Explore the mysteries of Hogwarts™ castle, visit the shops of Hogsmeade™ and experience pulse-pounding rides and attractions that transport you into a world of magical thrills and excitement.
Roles:
Hogwarts Express Conductor:
• Seeking male performers to portray mid 30's - 60's. Must be able to speak English with a British accent. Will be required to learn and perform the indicated English/Japanese script below. Must have at least an N2 level of Japanese Language Proficiency (New JLPT N2) for speaking and listening in order to react with guests in the park. Must be willing to work outdoors.
Wandkeeper at Ollivanders™:
• Seeking male performers to portray mid 40's - 60's. Must be able to speak English with a British accent. Will be required to learn and perform the indicated English/Japanese script below. Japanese language fluency/experience a plus but not required.

• Strong acting ability a must, with the flexibility to convincingly lip-synch Japanese dialogue.
• Actors and Hostesses will be featured in regular, seasonal and special shows, greetings, events and parades. Singing and dancing skills a plus, but not required.
Triwizard Tournament Prefect:
• Female actress to serve as hostess for the Triwizard Tournament Experiences in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™. Must look and be able to portray high school age and speak English with a British accent.
• Candidates will need to learn a Japanese script and must be willing to work outdoors.
Choir Master – Frog Choir:
• Female actress to serve as Choir Master and hostess for the Frog Choir Experiences in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™. Must look and be able to portray high school age and speak English with a British accent. Frog Choir Master candidates must have a sense of rhythm. Prior choir conducting experience a plus, but not a requirement.
• Candidates will need to learn a Japanese script and must be willing to work outdoors.
