This was not how he'd planned this. Not at all. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized that he had not in fact planned this part to begin with. And he really wasn't any good at improvising. Which is why he had made a plan. A plan he'd worked on for almost two months. Or longer really. And now everything was going to fail because he hadn't thought to think about how to actually get into the whole thing. Perfect.
Lewis failed to notice the inner turmoil so clearly reflected on Kurumi's face at his words, because he was too busy staring at the chair like it was the most interesting thing in the whole world. His thoughts had drifted off momentarily while he tried hard not to show the panic that was starting to rise inside of him. No, this was going to be fine. Everything would be fine. They'd come this far without ever really having a real plan. Relying on their instincts and improvisation skills was somehow their thing.
So when he looked back up he was more or less calm again, even a small smile playing around his lips.
Until he noticed Kurumi's expression.

"What's wrong?!" He asked around the same time she pretty much wanted to know the same thing. Pushing back his own thoughts for a moment, Lewis tugged on her hand softly, worry written on his face. Was it about her big news? Only she'd seemed to look quite happy when she'd come through the door. Huh? "I'm fine...", he answered her question with a small frown. Okay, what was happening?!
