Along her way she went, still carving away at her gandr. Now it didn't look so empty but she knew she still had lots to do so she wouldn't even try kidding herself. Book and gandr in one hand, wand in the other she found herself approaching the whomping willow. Such a nice tree. She liked this tree. Er...but she wasn't here to visit today. Lex plopped down at a safe distance and threw open her text.

Isa would be the next rune to be carved. Representative of masculinity, of authority, elineation and circumcision. Also represents a circumcision of action through the weather. Anything to do with authority. It is also good for dealing with conflict, and for magically gathering allies [who must be your equals, or nearly so]. It can also uncover enemies. Yeah it was useful but she was still wrinkling her nose at the authority bit. No thanks. If she could choose she would leave it out but this had to be a 'neutral' gandr or whatever. Eh. "Itaglio isa isa isa." That was one of the easier ones to carve.

Next up, Jera. Comfort; harmony with others. A symbol of right thoughts and right action leading to right results, a culmination of efforts over a long period of time. Seemed legit, granted it meant little to her but details details. "Itaglio jera jera jera." Concentraaaating, that's what she was doing, as with the others.

Moving on!!! Eihwaz. She...she didn't know whether this one was familiar or not. On the one hand it seemed like that but then...it seemed real odd and unknown. She didn't know what to think...Protection of oneself and one's rights. Sweeeeeet. She was fine with adding this one. "Itaglio eihwaz eihwaz eihwaz." Woot! Another one down!

Perthro...THAT she'd never heard of before. This gandr thing was an eye opener. So many runes that she didn't know and wouldn't remember when this was all done! Merlin! It opens or provides a barrier to the dark forces including the realms of the dead. It confronts us with our weaknesses, our failures, and our regrets. It makes us deal with the question of what we would do if we died now. You know...this one was...it was kinda scary...yeah..."Itaglio perthro perthro perthro." Scary rune done away with. What was next.

Oh right, Algiz. What was this one all about again? Every possible form of protection from every possible source of danger is Algiz's domain. Protection and defense, physical or spiritual, personal or collective.

Whoa...she was rushing to get this one on her wand!!! "Itaglio algiz algiz algiz. WAS IT ON RIGHT???
