Albert opened the connecting door into the Senior Undersecretary's office from his own and gave Warfield a stern look. He was here, was he? And how exactly had that woman managed to stroll right past him with nary a word to stop her?

That was disappointing.

"I just had a surprise visit from one of my Department Heads, a Ms Carter. She had no appointment and was not announced by you, and she left my office without being dismissed. I would appreciate it if you would let her know she's received a verbal warning for unprofessional behavior and her pay has been docked for this week. Arrange it with human resources."

Albert's attention drifted to the other man present, who got a nod. "I apologize for interrupting. Have we any appointments for today?"
