A wants everything perfect for you nervous. My heart skips and butterflies flutter in my stomach type.” she smiled at him did that even make sense. “You still distract me from classes though. She remembered how horrible she messed up in classes when he was around her. Maybe she wasn’t that distracted anymore, but he was able to take her focus still pretty easily.
Then his hand was on hers and she had almost forgotten the food cooking. Looking down at his hand she had to force herself to focus on his words. “hmm? Oh yes.. well you aren’t a slow learner, but since you gave me private lessons in skiing of course I should do the same.” Plus she liked doing things together. She liked when they seemed to be in their own little bubble, not noticing what was going on around them. Now to get back to the hand on hers, because that was super nice, no.. alright she looked into his green eyes smiling. “Thank you for understanding that part about me. You never have even showed on your face if you felt my muggle likes were odd.” She shortly wondered if her mother cooked at all in school or if she took up the love of cooking once she became part of the muggle world. “Plus as long as your getting fed proper food and not just quick not so healthy things, does it really matter.” She did worry about him being alone at uni. Not that Ethan ever acted spoiled, because he was far from someone like that, but she knew he had a house elf growing up and then she had fallen into a spoiling him role here, not that she minded at all she loved it honestly, but he wouldn’t have either at Uni next term.
She looked at him a little concerned. Was that nerves.. doubts.. fears.. what was going on. She knew him long enough to read him pretty well. “Are you getting nervous about it? You know you’re going to do fantastic there. I just know it. You’re going to be a brilliant herbologist.” Her faith in him always showed. ” Why apprehensive? We could talk about it if you need to.” because she was always there if he needed it. She felt all grown up and the seventeen year old felt a mix of emotion with that, because she knew this time next term she would have to be forcing herself to do the very same things, eh but that would mean he wouldn’t even be here to lean on, and she was in a great mood, not changing it by those thoughts.
OH.. wait.. “Ethan.. the dinner… you might want to check it.” See he was such a distraction, how much time had passed , she forgot to remind him.
Ethan chuckled a bit and looked down at their hands on the counter as Minerva made him remember how she used to act around him before they really dated, when she first made her feelings for him apparent. He could remember the electricity he had felt between them.. but then he looked up suddenly as she continued. He watched her carefully then gave her a small smile.
“I’m sure I made the right choice..” he started, having forgotten those conflicting feelings he had once had.
“Though if memory serves me correctly.. I wasn’t the only boy you had a little crush on,” he added with a knowing wink. And that also contributed to his conflicting feelings at the time, not sure if she was serious about her feelings towards him. But, he had to admit, it all worked out quite well.. he couldn’t be happier.
His smile broadened as she continued, talking about how her nerves were still there but in a different way.
"You're really amazing, you know that? I have those same sorts of feelings for you too.." Like he was always concerned for her well-being and just wanted her to be happy sorts of things.. which was why he had her on his mind as of late.. and she definitely made his heart skip often. He laughed a little as she talked about him distracting her in class.. yes, he remembered one particular Charms class that he seemed to be quite good at distracting her. And he was sure he knew that spell.. It seemed something else had been taking her focus in classes as of late, but he didn't want to bring that up now. He was enjoying this moment too much for it to be clouded with worry.. so he simply kept the same smile on his face as he gazed at her.
Still looking at her, a slow grin appeared on his face at her words.
"I do enjoy your private lessons.. and I hope you enjoyed mine. Did you have a good time skiing over break?" He hoped so.. she seemed to pick it up pretty easily and he wasn't surprised, really. He knew she loved her winter sports. He smiled a bit as she looked into his eyes and he looked back into hers.
"Well, of course.. I mean, I try to understand it anyway.." He hadn't grown up with Muggle things so much of it was a bit foreign to him. But it was interesting, not to mention..
"It's a part of you.. I want to know everything about you and I just.. love all of you." He smiled a bit, hoping she understood what he was trying to say and that it wasn't coming out all sappy. He chuckled a bit as she continued.
"No, it doesn't matter. As long as I get to eat.. plus I really appreciate your personal lessons." She knew how to make good food.. and if he could learn to cook half as good as she did, he would be all set.
His smile faltered a bit as she turned her concerned gaze on him. He should have known that she would be able to read him well.
"It's not a big deal, really," he started with a shrug.
"I guess I am a little nervous.. just something of a change, you know?" He smiled at her.. she was such a great girlfriend, so supportive of him.
"You really think so? I really want to be.. I guess I'm just afraid that it will be harder there.. like on a completely different level." Maybe he was just being silly, but he guessed he was afraid of failure. This would be a big change.
He got lost in his thoughts a little, his eyes focusing on his fingers as they glided along her hand and he looked up suddenly as she spoke.
"Oh!" He jumped up from his seat and ran over to the oven. He opened the door and, using the pot holder, pulled out the tray.
Please don't let it be burned..
