And the trick, obviously, is to use magic," he responded in a light tone as he watched a leaf spiral through the air above them.
He agreed with her, though. Hurting was lame, and he was the only one suffering. Time to knock it off.
"You shouldn't read people's homework. It's either dead boring or else will say something you're not meant to read," he offered unhelpfully, sticking his tongue out at her for good measure. And she was HARD to talk with about feelings, which was what he'd meant, really. Maybe Alice loved to talk about how she felt (she didn't, btw), but she didn't make it easy.
"I'm not interesting, I'm confusing. You're just mixing the two up in your head." Being complex and interesting weren't the same thing at all. Did being complex make her interesting, though? Alice considered it seriously, gaze still fixed on him, watching.
"Magic." Did he mean like love potions and things? Hm? .. was that why they were having curry? Was there something in there? Eyes, he was getting them.
She stuck her tongue back out at Mo and glanced over his parchment one more time.
"You're writing about me, it's not my fault I peeked." He wasn't going to put names on that, though, right? Yeah? Okay. Deciding that the curry didn't have anything in it- because if it did it wouldn't have tasted this good, probably- Alice scooped up some more of it, finishing off all the flatbread he'd brought. Pity. It was really good.
Was there still rice left? Her stomach had space for it.
