Ella had a point there. Cinnamon and lavender might be odd if mixed together... or maybe not! They could try, right? It was sort of alright if they failed, since they were still at school. Also, professor Lafay wasn't there to kill them or anything, so it was all good. For now, at least.
"Yeah, I know what you mean." Sophie chuckled at her friend's comparison. And uuuuugh, that last comment of hers also made sense. "That's true. Maybe it's best if we don't taste it now." Just leave it until it was finished, yes? Yes.
Sophie put the salt container thing down after she finished adding the ingredient. She smiled as her bestie added more cinnamon and pondered about the pond slime. "Yeah, I think that would be enough. It looks disgusting, doesn't it?" So it was kind of good it there wasn't enough of it in the Potion. Hehe. "But maybe we could stir it thoroughly to make sure the nutrients and stuff spread?" Or something.
So the girl waved her wand again and the wooden spoon started to stir the potion faster than it had before, and she made sure it would do it a bit longer this time too. Sophie counted the times it was stirring clockwise and lifted the spell as it did its 14th stir. She didn't know why, it just felt right. "Do you want to take note of that? Stir 14 times clockwise?" She told her blonde friend who was taking notes.
"So now we've got the eagle owl feathers." Sophie said, holding a couple of them up. "I don't have any ideas about these. What do you think?"
It was pretty adorable how Sophie's entire face lit up when she talked about Hair boy. Ella was just sort of really happy to see her best friend happy again. They could discuss this more, actually, when they'd finished their potion. They had some serious catching up to do. The blonde simply GRINNED in response and nudged the brunette before focusing again on the task at hand.
"Yeah! It'll be a surprise at the end and if it's horrible, at least we can be grossed out together." Shrug. Seemed like a legit plan to Ella and if she was going to vomit from how vile this might be, she wanted Soph right there with her. The friends who vomited together, stayed together...or something like that.
Peering into the cauldron, Ella nodded in agreement.
"The pond slime made it really lumpy looking." GAG. The blonde wasn't a fan of drinking lumpy things. That's why when Sophie suggested lots of stirring, she nodded enthusiastically.
"Yup, sounds like a plan!" You go, Sophie Campbell.
The nonverbal magic thing? Ella was jealous. She needed to practice some more so she could be as good as Soph was.
"14 times clockwise...right." She really needed to be paying attention here, didn't she.
Scribble. Scribble. Scribble. "Well, the owl feathers are used in Dragon Tonic, yeah?" Ella held one up so that they could both observe it as she spoke.
"That means they must be pretty powerful...I mean dragons are huge creatures." So they'd need ingredients in their tonic that'd be strong.
"Maybe we can add in 4? 2 from each of our ingredients piles." Beam. Good plan? YUP! The sixteen year old added them in and gave the potion another 5 stirs, this time going counterclockwise.
Okay!
"Now we can test this...this...Mind healing and boosting potion out!" And hopefully not die. Dying didn't seem appealing to Ella. She was too young and had too many Quidditch matches to play.
Scooping out some of the potion, the blonde gave her friend a nervous smile and said,
"Bottoms up!"
...
YUCK!
