GUESS HOW MANY ASHWINDER EGGS AND WIN THE LOT
Only 6 sickles a guess!
13 sickles gets you three guesses!
6 wrong guesses gets you a consolation prize!
Buy a hint for just 1 galleon!

So far things were going well. He'd made 3 galleons and 9 sickles, and assisted with a further 1 galleon and 13 sickles that Dylan had, and if they put that together, that was 5 galleons and 5 sickles and they still had all ten of their jars, and all it had cost him was a packet of ice mice that he'd got for free anyway.

The gamble was definitely worth his while.

West waited, leaning back comfortably in his seat while people rushed here and there. He was trusting in his flashing sign to drag in the curious and the gamblers. It wasn't as if they wouldn't notice it. It was different after all.

West got a sandwich out of his bag and began eating half of it.

Having just come out of the cauldron shop it stood to reason that the wizened old man would have his attention caught by a tent selling ashwinder eggs at a bargain price. He was a cheap fellow though and 5 galleons a jar wasn't really his idea of a good deal. He was also a gambler so when he spotted the sign at the table where a couple of teenage boys were sitting, the man got an unholy gleam in his eye and eagerly lurched over there.

Did he want hints or did he want guesses? He could barely stand it. The wife never let him gamble anymore and he'd loved the pokies as a younger man...

"TEN GUESSES!" He blurted out, nose twitching. Surely he'd get it in ten?

West stopped eating his sandwich mid-bite, comically frozen as he eyed the old crusty warlock in front of him. Ten guesses? 45 sickles, that was 2 galleons and 11 sickles, just for guesses, and only one consolation prize for being wrong. Good deal right? Was it worth trying to get some more guesses out of the guy?

Hmm probably not. He didn't want the guy to actually get the right amount and that'd give him more possibilities of getting it. He put his sandwich aside.

"2 galleons and 11 sickles, write your guesses on this bit of parchment, sir." West said, and provided said parchment and a quill.

The warlock eagerly counted out the right amount, using a mixture of knuts, sickles, and a single galleon, then eagerly wrote down his guesses.

45, 50, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 65 ,70

YES? DID HE GET IT?

Awwwww nope! Phew! West shot Dylan a relieved look. With ten guesses it woulda been easy for the guy to have lucked out, but he hadn't.

"Sorry, sir. Didn't get it right. But you get a consolation prize." He took out of his bag a licorice wand and presented it with a flourish.

The money? Went in the tin. That made 7 galleons and 16 sickles so far!
