And then he was smiling and the blonde smiled too, letting out a breath she didn't realize she'd been holding in. This meant...he didn't hate them, right? The gifts.

"I know it's sort of silly but the key chains reminded me of us. I mean, we do make pinky promises a lot, y'know? So..I figured we could both take one and be reminded... of the other when we look at them?" Gah. That was totally sappy, wasn't it? As for the watch, Ella bit her lip and reached over to pick it up. "This was my Granddad's." She said quietly, running her fingers along the leather strap. "I know it's...old...but it still works. He was just really important to me and so are you so I'd like for you to have it." And she tugged on her arm gently, removing his watch and placing the one she'd gotten him on instead. "It suits you, I think." Blush.

And then it was her turn for gifts and Ella picked up the flowers first, picking up the flowers and smelling them before smiling at Alec. "These are really pretty. Thanks." Next came the box which was green, her favorite color. Had he done this on purpose? Grin. Ella removed the lid and peeked inside, her green eyes widening a bit. "Alec, this is just...erm it's all really nice." Her hands moved to the necklace and she lifted it out to examine it more closely. "Thank you. For everything. I really love this." Really really. Boy had done incredibly well.

Yeah. Smiley girlfriend was smiley. And it was entirely his fault? The boy let out a small chuckle before responding with, "I'm not sorry?" Because she was smiling! There was nothing to be sorry about, yeah? "Yeah? Funny because that's your fault, you know." GRIN.

Oh? Oh... right. Her and Harvey hadn't been together for a whole year. But there was no need to mention the girl's ex-boyfriend so... let's keep this light and not awkward, yeah? "Me neither," Obviously. "But this doesn't seem wrong, yeah?"

She wanted to give this gift earlier? Really? So... this was probably really special? The gift itself, that is, because this day itself was really special too.

Also, that hair thing she was doing? Sort of distracting. He tried his hardest to keep his eyes on his gift but there was something about the way she was twirling her hair around her finger that was sort of... mesmerising? And he knew that if he looked up properly, he'd end up staring at it. And staring was creepy, yeah? Even for boyfriends.

Yeah, okay.

Oh, and she was launching into an explanation. So now he had an excuse to look up at her face. "It's not silly, you know," he said, grinning at the girl before picking up both of the key chains, "And... this would be really useful for during the holidays, I guess." Because they had that distance problem during the holidays, yeah? ... Oh. Her Granddad's. Alec blinked a couple of times at her as the girl then started placing the watch on his wrist. "I... that's..." Could he kiss her? Please? "Have I ever told you how amazing you are? And thank you for this, Ells. Really!" The hand that had the watch tied on his wrist then turned around so that it was holding hers. "You're right, by the way. It looks awesome!"

And now it was his turn to be nervous. He reached up a hand to ruffle his hair, a sheepish grin spread across his face. "Anytime!" And... he wasn't going to be cheesy and say that she was far prettier than the flowers, even if it was true. ... GRIN GRIN GRIN. "It doesn't have any significant meaning..." he said, stealing a quick glance at the watch she had given him before looking back up at her again, "But I thought you might like it?" Which... she did. "Anytime! And thanks for coming!" GRIN.

... Also... "Do you want to order something to eat?"
