There was no amount of words that would explain how grateful Jake was to be on patrol right now. He did not want to hang around in the prefect's compartment when Dylan had his spider out for show and tell. Seriously, who would keep something like that as a pet? It made Jake want to squish it just thinking about it. So... yeah. Patrol was a good thing.
And speaking of good things. There was his girlfriend.
Jake smiled, catching up to Anya and slipping his arm around her waist. He kissed her cheek - just a peck, no PDA - and greeted her with a cheerful, "Hey, Anya."
...Then he saw the two little people there. He put an appropriate amount of space between himself and his girlfriend, his arm still around her, and gave an easy smile to the two little girls. "Hi."
