The boy was shaking... it was not the vibrations from the train though. The boy was crying. Sarah then removed the trunk from her head. "Can I sit next to you?" she asked.

Forrest tried his BEST to stop the sobs, but he just couldn't help it. This was the first time he would be away from his mother for a LONG time--in fact, he didn't remember even one night when she wasn't there for him. If only she could be here to help him... no, he should stop thinking about her, or else he'd really cry...

Hey you...

His head snapped to the direction of the sound and he saw a girl smiling at him. Trying to control his breath, he wiped his face with the back of his hands and didn't smile or anything. He couldn't even answer her questions, because it felt like too much of an effort to do anything but be SAD.

But he did notice the trunk over her head.

"There's a place to put it," he said weakly, pointing to her trunk with his finger.
