"Morning Isobel! Welcome back!" Because she had totally been missing from the department for some time, hadn't she? Or was she just so hung up on her space models that she didn't even notice?

He didn't seem very talkative though, which meant that either he was new and didn't feel it appropriate to introduce himself at this moment OR he was just .... quiet and not the talker, like pretty much everyone who was employed in this department. Deciding it was the former, she gave him a big smile as well. "Morning, mister! Welcome!" Because he was knew to her, at the very least, if not the department.
