Alyssa looked at both seeds and recalled what the Professor had told them, that if their seeds were bulky that they needed to reduce their size. Looking at her seeds and knowing that they needed space to grow, she took out her wand and pointing at the both seeds, she said, "Reducio" and a purple beam of light streamed out of her wand, and enveloped both seeds. She concentrated on the spell while watching the seeds start to shrink and when she decided that the size of each seed was sufficient for her jar, she ended the shrinking spell.

Picking up the Lotus seeds with her finger tips, Alyssa gently embedded each seed into the loam soil making sure that they were evenly spread apart along the right side of the jar. She had successfully planted her two lotus seeds. Now it was time for her to plant her water lily seeds.
