 New Year's Party

Roxanne Carter's New Year's Bash
When one walks into the room set aside for the party, the first thing they notice is not the nervously pacing woman, but that it is split into two levels. The ground level is mostly taken up by a large dance floor set up directly in front of a stage. On the stage is the DJ, waiting for the cue from the pacing woman to start the music. Once the music is started, so will a light show, set to the beat of the music. To one side of all this is a bar which looks like it's lit from the inside. Here, the bartender will make you any drink you wish. Once you have your drink, feel free to take it over to one of the few couches set up along the dance floor. Though, if you want to hold a conversation here, you will have to shout to be heard over the music.
The second level, however, is much quieter. You can still hear the music, but it's more like background noise and you can still be heard if you talk normally. Here, couches matching those downstairs, as well as a few armchairs, are arranged in small groupings for speaking with coworkers. Also up here is the buffet table, set up with a spread of delicious food. There's even a chocolate fountain and fondue pot on this table, surrounded by various fruits and bread squares for the dipping. Just don't double dip! Makes Roxanne cranky. If you're thirsty, a second bar serves as the beverage table here. And yes, both tables match the one downstairs.
Suspended above the DJ, visible to those on either floor, is a countdown clock, ticking away the final minutes to midnight.
