Alyssa's first impulse was to clean her workstation before leaving. But not wanting to disobey Professor Lafay's instructions, she reluctantly but quickly picked up her backpack in one hand and her journal in the other and walked out of the class in an orderly fashion following the other students out of the classroom.

She hoped that she would be allowed in later to help clean up her workstation and retrieve her cauldron, utensils and her potion kit.
