"Use the baster in your potions kit to fill your balloons, and tie them shut. Fill Five. Then quickly cast Evanesco on your cauldrons cleaning up the rest, before it begins to give off gas."
She turned to the Head Girl and said "Go On... And be quick about it." Kendall had thought about adding her mixture into her cauldron. She had known it was going into it eventually either way, but that also was going to mean that she had to move close to the stinky potion again. Therefore, she had chosen to wait until the step had been given, and in the meantime she had begun to feel sorry for Selina. The Head Girl had to stand up there in front of everyone and finish Professor Lafay’s potion for her, and she was being yelled at practically the whole time. She felt sorry for her, but also was glad it wasn’t her. Instead, she was able to grab five balloons from the basket as it went past her, then calmly Scourgify the baster from her kit before she picked her mortar up. The professor had technically told them to add the lemony mixture first, but she wasn’t about to risk anything going wrong because she wasn’t fast enough. She wasn’t about to risk passing out in the middle of the classroom, and she definitely didn’t want to know if her hair was going to end up some new color if she did. She was nervous enough, although so far she’d controlled that part of herself. The control probably would disappear if she was unconscious though.
Therefore, she chose to get the balloons first, then add the lemon-poppy stuff before quickly setting the mortar down again to retrieve her wand from its holster. Di-lap-sus, she repeated a few times in her head, just to make sure she didn’t mess up the pronunciation, then she quickly jabbed her wand at the potion. “Dilapsus,” she cast, before setting her wand down and picking a balloon and the baster up. She could put it back into the holster later, since she was supposed to be fast. Sticking the baster inside the cauldron, she sucked up some of the liquid, and then carefully set the tip inside the opening of the balloon. There was no way she was going to get anything on her hands. Filling the first balloon quickly and tying it tightly shut, she proceeded to repeat the technique on the other four balloons that she’d selected before setting the last one down gently on her workstation. They hadn’t exactly been told how full they were supposed to be, but she figured hers were fine. Picking her wand up again after setting the baster down next to the evil potion balloons, she speedily cast Evanesco on the remainder of the potion inside her cauldron, watching intently to make sure that there wasn’t any gas starting to escape. There was going to be no passing out now, and after she Scourgified literally every piece of her equipment that had been used to brew the potion, she sat back to add the final steps to her journal. All that was left was hoping they weren’t going to be expected to actually use their evil potion balloons on each other, but something told her they weren’t going to be that lucky. At least they weren’t being forced to drink it. SPOILER!!: Potions journal
Noxious potion
description: emits a green, bad-smelling smoke that makes someone think it is poisonous, and can make a person pass out or feel like throwing up, which will definitely happen if the potion is ingested. Can also injure a person by making them pass out and hit their head, and can be used as a distraction.
Ingredients:
Milk , enough to fill cauldron half way.
5 Doxy eggs
10 grams of Sulfur
2 ounces of armadillo bile
4 cups of flobberworm mucus
1 cup of whale oil
2 cups of Mountain Troll Dung
juice of one lemon
a handful of Poppy seeds
Steps:
1. Scourgify cauldron and make sure that it is clean and uncontaminated by anything
2. Fill cauldron halfway with cow’s milk
3. Light burner under cauldron, keeping it set to a low flame
4. Crack each doxy egg and add to cauldron, stirring once counter-clockwise after each egg
5. Put gloves on, then take each gem of sulfur and crumble it with your hands before adding to the cauldron
6. Measure out the 2 ounces of armadillo bile while vigorously stirring the potion clockwise until it is in a full spin
7. Add the armadillo bile
8. Wait for the spinning to stop on its own
9. Spoon the 4 cups of flobberworm mucus into the potion with a wooden spoon
10. Add the cup of whale oil from the side, drizzling it in slowly
11. Using a nose clamp to avoid most of the smell, add the troll dung as quickly as possible (note: try not to throw up into the potion)
12. Juice a lemon into mortar, adding a handful of poppy seeds once the juice is collected and crush everything together
13. Add the lemon-poppy mixture into potion
14. Cast “Dilapsus” on the potion, using a brisk jabbing motion
15. Quickly, using baster, fill balloons (5) with the potion, making sure to tie them tightly
16. Vanish the remainder of the potion, preferably before it starts giving off gas (Evanesco)
