| HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED SPOILER!!: Kaiden Kaiden had listened intently as his classmates listed off possible potions ingredients, but he hadn’t had a clue about what could be in the potion. What could be in a potion that could be as gross as the one they were going to make? The grossest thing he could think of was mayonnaise. BLECK. When the list of ingredients appeared on the board, he scribbled them down, and then followed the rest of the class to collect the required ingredients. He had half a mind to grab them all in one trip, but when he almost dropped the jar of troll dung, he sat it back down, made a couple of trips.
Sitting back at the work station, he scooted this ingredients away from the edge of the table and waited for the next bit of instructions from the Potions Mistress. And they came soon enough. Following her example, he pointed his wand at the cauldron, and said “Scourgify.” Making sure it was all clean, he poured enough milk into it to fill in half way. And now, for placing it over the burner, he cast “Incindeo” and watched the flame burn low.
The reluctant Hufflepuff wasn’t paying much attention to the things going on in the class. No, he was entertained by the fire, wishing he was camping out. He did snap out of his thoughts when Lafay started giving more instructions. Right, Doxy eggs, what ever they were. Casting scourgify on his stirring implement, he picked up one of the small eggs, and cracked it, letting all the egg innards fall into the cauldron. Picking up his stirring spoon, he stirred once counter clockwise. It then went Crack. Stir. Crack. Stir. Crack. Stir. Crack. Stir.
After that bit was done, he then donned his gloves, and picked up some of the sulfur. The smell kind of burned his nose. He balled his hand into a fist to crush the little yellowish gems, and then let it fall into the cauldron, and then did it again. To once the full amount was in the cauldron, he then watched as Miks finished her part as he slid off his gloves. She was awfully good at all this.
Kaiden listened carefully to this next bit on instructions. Right, that sounded difficult. Carefully, he measured out the two ounces of bile, and picked up his stirry spoon. Setting it into the liquidy stuff, he began stirring it very fast in a clockwise motion until it spun by itself. Quickly, he poured in the bile, and watched as the spinning slowed and then stopped. So, now time for the flobber worm stuff yeah? Taking a freshly cleaned wooden spoon, he spooned in all four cups of the stuff. And yeah, that mucusy stuff was cool!
As he waited for more instructions, the boy found himself watching the potion doing its stuff in his cauldron, and too the occasional peek up at Miks. He would never admit it, but he was startled when Lafay started talking to the class once more. Oops. Cup of Whale oil. He picked up the little container it was in, and watched how the potions mistress poured hers in. Carefully he imitated the professor’s actions, letting it all drizzle in, though he may have done it a little faster than she had.
Kaid grinned widely when he looked back up and saw the clamp on the woman’s nose. It couldn’t really be THAT bad could it? He did take one though, when the basket reached him, and he placed it on his nose. Err, it was uncomfortable. Before opening the jar, he just kind of looked at the stuff. “I wonder who has to collect this stuff?” he asked out loud with a stuffy sound. That had to be the worst job ever. Opening the jar, he quickly realized it was bad, really bad. He stopped breathing, as he tried pouring the stuff quickly. As it was plopping into the cauldron, he heard someone retching beside him.
“Miks!” he said turning to her, concerned for his friend, and glad she hadn’t gotten sick all over him, but that other girl. The one he didn't like. Reaching out, he place his hand on her back and rubbed like his mother did when he was sick. “You okay?” [/QUOTE]
To say that she wasn't expecting her friend to pat her on the back was an understatement. The pale-faced girl just gave her friend a shaky smile and tried to fake some bravado. She already had allot of ground work to cover with her attempts to not be labeled as the girl who couldn't handle the scent of troll dung. Well mountain trolls were severely more rancid smelling than regular trolls.
Or so that was her opinion.
"I'll be fine" she quietly muttered not loud enough to really effectively be heard over the sounds of potions brewing. "Thanks Kaiden" she gave him another half-lit smile, still looking slightly green in demeanor. SPOILER!!: Macabre Quote:

He was literally distraught over not being able to help.
Mo clamped the nose plug thingy on his nose, took a steadying breath, and scooted around his work station to offer a handkerchief to Queen Alice and his sleeve to Creepy Mika. "You should sit down and try some deep breathing. You're looking... pale." That's what his mother said whenever he was sick. He looked pale. He needed toast and tea. "You need toastandtea," Mo whispered to Mika, very seriously, before scurrying back to his own work station. They'd get it later. Some for Alice too.
Whale oil (which was NOT mustard oil). Mo glanced back at Alice and Mika before drizzling the oil into the cauldron. 'Round and 'round and 'round. It almost made him forget about how putrid the next part was going to be. Almost, but when Mo finished the oil, he knew what was coming next. Troll. Dung.
TROLL DUNG. Mo scowled darkly at the jar as he yanked off the lid and slopped the gunk into his cauldron. There was a little splash-back, but none got on Mo or on his work station, so he counted it as a win. Or a draw, 'cause it stunk and NO ONE was winning at the moment.
HOW LONG WOULD HE SMELL LIKE THIS?
Was he serious? Did Mo just offer her his sleeve? She'd have to decline because really sleeves weren't used for wiping sickness off of another person's face. Though it was a sweet, sweet gesture she'd rather use her own sleeve.
She just chuckled and lifted up her own sleeve. "I've got a sleeve but thanks...maybe tonight we should practice spells and charms to remove awful stench out of clothing." She offered with a wicked glint to her eyes. SPOILER!!: Lafay Quote:

"Someone clean that up!" she yelled at no one in particular. "And if any got in anyone's potion... start over."
"Try an evanesco charm." She said. She wasn't the kid's mother. She had to have learned some charms by now...
"Anyway..." She took her lemon and handed it to Skylar with her mortar. "Juice it." She told her. "You will juice your lemon," she said to the rest of the class, "Into your mortar, then toss a handful of poppy seeds into it and use your pestle to crush it all together." She turned back to the head girl and said "Get on with it!"
When Lafay next spoke she felt her skin pale again. And not, this time for being sick. Embarrassment was more like it. She'd feel wretched if she had caused someone to have to restart a potion. "So sorry everyone" she muttered as she pointed her wand to the remaining sickness situated near Nerida. "Evansco" and readjusting she pointed her wand towards Alic "Evansco" and a third time at the sleeve she'd just wiped her own sickness onto "Evansco".
There.
Everything was righted.
For now.
She was still going to give Alice a gift of monstrous candy proportions.
The next thing she did was take the lemon and proceeded to juice the lemon. A small dollop of the liquid spraying back and landing on the tip of her nose. Man did that smell so much better than that Troll dung.
And once the mortar was filled with the juice of her lemon she took the handful of poppy seeds and dropped them into the mortar as well. Pestle in hand she proceeded to crush them until all she could think of was how much nicer this room was starting to smell for now - that is.
