Spike tilted his head thoughtfully, and scribbled down some notes. "To understand the balance required across the system," Spike said, raising his hand. "It's not that a plant from a hot climate can't live in a cooler one, you just need to maintain the balance - so watering it less often, for example, to account for the lack of rain and high rate of evaporation experienced in hot, arid climes." Of course, the obvious example here was the humble cactus; plenty of people kept them in the UK, where it decidedly wasn't hot most of the year round.
