Rowan thought for a moment and came up with, what she thought, was a reasonable answer. She raised her hand and said, "
Understanding ecosystems, when studying Herbology, is important because it allows you to better care for and successfully grow your plants. If you know what ecosystem the plant thrives in you can recreate that environment. Knowing the type of soil, how much sun, even the insects the plant needs for pollination is crucial. Many plants do better in the presence of certain other varieties of plants." Geez, she hoped she wasn't rambling.
