Alice was too busy looking at the tank to pay attention to Ecosystem chatter, but she put her hand up anyway. "An ecosystem is some kind of community of interacting, living.. THINGS.. and.. um.. their physical.. surroundings? Or settings or conditions.. basically, anything that affects it.. or something?" Or something was probably the right answer. She couldn't really make heads or tails of what she was saying. But.. that would make this a kind of an ecosystem. Because.. because Bentley had changed the surroundings to accommodate the plants, hadn't she?

Mhm. She was just going to get out her notebook and ink and quill like a GOOD LITTLE GIRL and not say anything anymore, for fear of being confused. Because that tended to happen to her often during school hours.
