Not too red or pinkish today, that was incredibly relieving to his eyes. "Hello headmistress." Aww, see what he did there? Annie was all grown up in black and headmistress-y. He had to try that word, he should get used to it actually. His eyes then met the others, all young ladies... oh and a young man faaaar from where Ab stood. His eyes lingered long on the young man's face, they could be mates in this big women's solidarity.
Ab switched the cane to his other hand and went to sit at the end of the table, the closest end to him. That was his place if his memory served him right.[/INDENT]
Leo lifted his goblet to drink some water as he followed a man with a cane and a fashionable hanky in his jacket pocket made his way up and onto the dais. Waving at the old man by the looks of it he called down the table. "Good evening, Sir." It was the appropriate way to great your elders and this grey haired man seemed many years his senior and also to be the new Ancient Runes professor. SPOILER!!: Seren Quote:

The change of topic was appreciated, talk of last terms events stirred up memories of the Umbrella Vinora...and the woman that blew it up. No, Seren was not pleased, but she could move on... she could. "I did actually, and greenhouse six has had a complete makeover... it's been a long time coming, but it's so worth it. You should come down and have a look sometime."
Meeting Seren’s gaze Leo said. "All help is most welcome. It’s the soot that’s the worst and the smell of fire still in the air. I don’t suppose you know of any plants that would freshen up the air?" he wondered. It was a long shot but the smell of fire was sticking you in the nose when you walked into the library and Leo wanted to get rid of it as soon as possible.
On the offer of coming down to look at green house six sometime Leo opened and closed his mouth for a moment before confessing with a blush. "I'm not sure you'd want me there Seren. I'm not exactly friends with plants." Meaning that plants died under his care even if he remembered to water them and give them attention. SPOILER!!: Alistaire Quote:

It was time for the Sorting, no? Then the best part: the food!
Leo was about busy himself with reading the back of his new book while he waited for the seats around him to be filled up with more colleagues when a man in a kilt past behind his seat. Curiosity peeked he watched the man sit down in the groundskeepers seat. Clearing his throat he called over."Good evening, you must be the new groundskeeper? I’m Leobald Kitridge, librarian." Ha!
She clicked her way into the Great Hall eying the students as she made her way up to the staff table. They all seemed to be behaving for now anyways. "Good evening!" She announced with an unnatural cheerfulness...(unnatural with her anyways) to the general table. Oh look the new persons had arrived. "Medea..." She turned to the woman sitting next to her. "Have you spoken to William about his precious Pygmy Puffs?"
Leo’s attention was diverted from the groundskeeper to Sophia that had taken her seat next to Medea in what appeared to be a dress made of dragon skin and she was cheerful. He was going to seek his friend out after the feast for a better catch up. For now though Leo settled with waving with his new book to get her attention. "Good evening Sophia! Nice dress." She would respect her son's wish - for the time being.
The blond short haired woman’s head appeared in Leo’s line of sight again introducing herself as Erin James, the new flying instructor like he had assumed when she had taken one of the seats close to the headmistress. It had been where Max had been seated after all."If you ever are in need of books of any kind then you should stop by the library. We’ve got both muggle and magical authors and a wide range of genres from detective stories to handbooks on gardening." Leo said. His mind shifted back to the tattered section of the library again and sighed heavily. Would it ever be glimmering again? SPOILER!!: Hecate Quote:

Feeling a scent of tea drifting over his way Leo turned right to see Hecate sitting in her usual seat two seats away from him. "Good evening Hecate." Leo greeted with warm smile. "Did you have a good summer?" he enquired remembering how ill she had been last term. Hopefully she was cured now or at least on the mend. The Slytherins needed a firm hand to guide them. Feeling his stomach grumble he hoped that the sorting could be done already so that Annie could hold her speech and then they could eat. Trying to not think of food Leo was given a nice distraction as Gemma slipped into her seat beside him in a white dressy piece. "Good evening Gemma, it’s nice to see you too." He still hadn’t forgotten the incident before they had left for the break where she had fallen into his lap by accident. It had been an embarrassing and well confusing moment. Trying to push the mental image out of his head he nodded. "Yes my break was good. I vacationed in the canary islands." The nod turned into a shrug. "I'm not sure. I haven't had the chance to properly go through the storage room yet. I hope some books have been donated though to fill up the hole after the books that were destroyed in the fire." “How was your break?” He asked back to keep up the conversation. Quote:

Turning to his colleague Leo watched in silence as Dash tapped his goblet with his wand before tucking it away. Why did he do that? He couldn’t think somebody had spiked it with something? Letting it pass Leo greeted him with a smile. "Good Evening Dash. Good break?"
