Max was certain the riddle was probably easy if he had been able to read it properly, but only a few of the phrases registered in his mind. He had to get it right on the first try, didn't he? Otherwise... he'd probably be too high to answer again. Though he took a split second to ponder two answers, he had decided on one after catching quick sight of the "wringing in the fool" line, scribbled it with his self-inking quill, and dove forward to shove it through the mail slot on the door.

In the same diving move to rid his parchment through the door(in which he managed to bump his head against the door itself but succeeded in sticking the parchment through the slot), he tossed his quill up to his house and yearmate, Vivi.

Good thing he had a spare.
