She let him put his arms around her and she leaned into him putting her head on his shoulder and feeling safe, for a moment. she shook her head slightly and muttered out a shaky and barely audible
"it's fine really." because it WAS fine. he was allowed to feel however he wanted but she was hurting and heartbroken and just wanted someone to care.
After a few minutes of her calming down and him just running his hands through her hair trying to calm her she looked up at him slowly. Looking into his eyes she didnt feel hurt or scared or pressured to be anything she wasnt. She felt safe and calm and like she could be her true self, and as she stared into his eyes she just couldn't help herself but lean forward and kiss him.
