Phoenix looked around the common room, it was amazing! There was food and people to talk to, Phoenix had made a vow to get to know more people this year as after everything that had happened over the last couple of years she was determined to have at least a couple of friends before Christmas.

Christmas... Phoenix's brow furrowed. It was only two months away and she had promised her mother she would go home, no doubt because her father was going to be there as it would be her little brother's first Christmas, that and her mother was still too afraid of what her father would do if he wasn't allowed access.

Stop with the negative thoughts Phoenix she berated herself as she poured herself a drink and grabbed a handful of sweets. She leaned against the wall and glanced around, seeing if there was anyone here she had talked to before.
