Eliza slowly walked into the classroom, dragging her feet a bit. Not because she was tired, because she made sure she'd always slept enough for a full day of lessons, but because she really wasn't sure about this Arithmancy thing. Sure, she was a Ravenclaw, but she really fell more into the artistic side of that spectrum and not so much the mega-human-computer side. Anything with numbers tended to get a little...confusing for her.
As she went to find a seat, she read the note on the board and looked back to the candies on the desks. She'd never had them before, but they looked good. Well that helps things a little, she thought. She gave a small smile to the professor and said, "Hello Professor Hadley. Thank you for the candy." She tried to perk up her smile a little more. She didn't want the her to think she was being rude of course.
She sat down at a desk and took out her book and parchment. No one here that I know yet... she observed. No one that I'm really on desk partner terms with anyway. She wondered if Cora or Beezus would take this class. She popped the candy in her mouth, folded her hands on her lap, and swung her legs back and forth under the desk, hoping someone would come sit by her. |
