"Wait, your mother? Lied? I thought you liked her." Which, in Elliot's mind, couldn't happen. But hey, her father probably lied to her all the time...and she still adored him. And hated him. All at the same time.
Rebel...Elliot chuckled slightly...her blue eyes twinkling.
"No...I couldn't. I mean I can be bold and stand up to her...but blatantly not obey her...my father would be so mad at me! And I can't afford that right now." no. She had to be perfect in every way.
Which made this all the more infuriating!
