When the room had quieted down, Sutton continued loudly. "Headmistress Truebridge has LOST something very important to her! It is a small green, Egyptian looking brooch. The house elves will be looking for it, but I'm sure she'd appreciate our help, too. So, if anyone finds it, take it to her straight away, got it?" She said, making eye contact with everyone in the room.
Maybe if one of them found it, she'd give them like a bazillion house points...They could use it.

"And okay we will forget about it and I promise not to do anything like that again." Laura stopped talking and stopped the hug she had been given Ed. "So what now?" Laura asked kind of awkwardly.
"It's okay." He repeated once more, but blinked in surprise when she practically attacked him with a hug. Patting her back kind of awkwardly, he nodded. "Okay then. We're all good." No hard feelings from him. When he was finally released from the awkwardly long hug, he smiled at Laura. Oh, yeah. Good question. "Um, I dunno. Just carry on as before." He looked up when he heard the familiar voice of Sutton.
Why were THEY being told? Surely Truebridge could send her
henchmen elves to find it? He raised an eyebrow at her, but nodded when she made eye contact with him. He'd keep an eye out for it, but he wasn't going to go out of his way to find it.
