Melanie looked at where Tag had turned. She was surprised to see that their target had basically just approached them. Well, not really, he was conversing with someone else but Tag and Melanie had plans and they needed to carry them out now. Hearing the younger Gryffindor's instructions, Melanie nodded her head, glancing at him with a grin. "Yes, sir!" Melanie said, giving him a little salute before approaching her best friend.

She walked slowly towards him - she wasn't sure why, but she did. Maybe it was to seem more natural? Maybe she should've worn all black and been a spy like she had planned over the summer. No time for that now. But Landon was busy talking to someone. Would it be rude to interrupt the conversation?

No. There were plans that needed to be carried out. "Hello Pobby!" Melanie exclaimed, beaming at him before smiling politely at the other person Landon had been talking to.

She wasn't being awkward at all.

"And hi to you too!" Melanie added, smiling at the other person and giving waving hello. "Isn't it a wonderful day today?" Melanie added. Because she wasn't sure how long she needed to distract Pobby in the first place.
