He knew that those thoughts were going to be addressed later since he didn't entirely enjoy the fact that there was confusing thoughts wandering around his head that he hadn't known how to explain immediately but he quickly shook all of this off as soon as it had come; there wouldn't have been conversations otherwise. Once Kendall had sat down beside him and set the bag of chocolate on the table, he eyed it suspiciously since he knew that he'd seen it before and when she spoke; it confirmed that it did in fact belong to him and that she decided to take it from his trunk. "I'm not sure they would, not everyone is as friendly as I am around here." he said before pausing slightly to think about what else to say, it seemed as though just being able to speak anymore without thinking about exactly what it was that he wanted to say wasn't possible and that had just made things much more frustrating. "How did you get this from my trunk? I had it put away so that the only one that could have found it is me." Raising an eyebrow at his friend, somehow she managed to sneak the chocolate that was meant to be used for an emergency situation but at least she had given it back since he had wanted a couple of the bars for later. "And I will right now, plus the owl is still coming." He handed her the boxes of chocolate that had been sitting on the bench on the other side of him since there wasn't a need to bring his entire messenger bag to the feast, instead he hid that away in his trunk so it was safe for now.
Before he had the chance to continue speaking, the notice of the headmistress speaking had caught his attention and he stayed quiet for the moment as the woman spoke; wait.. board of governors? What in Merlin's name were they doing here? Hogwarts certainly didn't need people disrupting what had gone on usually. At least he didn't seem to be worried about them, not as much as when Professor Scabior approached the table and gone onto make several students silent as well as take five points away from Gryffindor. It hadn't seemed like Slytherin had lost anything yet and he wanted to make sure things stayed that way, even if it meant abandoning some ideas for trouble which wasn't going to be fun. As soon as the speech had been over, he turned his attention back to his friend and it seemed like there was something up as the strange feeling had returned as it had on the train. That had to mean that Mika was around and he hadn't wanted to deal with another situation with the second year Ravenclaw. "One question at a time, okay.. I don't think that the Headmistress will make evil changes but I'm quite wary of the board of governors; their reasoning to be here still confuses me and I do believe they'll try to convince the new Headmistress to make changes that could possibly create frustration for not only the current staff of the school but all of us students." he replied, having to take a breath after he spoke since that was a lot to say at once and it oddly had been much more intelligent than he had intended it to sound. "It's a possibility. Having a baby dragon at Hogwarts can be considered rather dangerous to everyone." Honestly, he hadn't wanted that to be the case when it just meant that this term could have brought bad things. Honestly, Kendall had half-expected Patrick to disregard her flippant comment about talking to other Slytherins. She certainly didn't expect an actual response, let alone to find out that he'd taken her seriously. She didn't think he ever took her seriously, not really, so she'd given him kind of a look as he'd spoken, ignoring the food that had finally appeared on the table since the speech was finished. "When have I ever worried about if people are friendly?," she asked. She usually just talked to people either way, except for on the train when Mika had been all creepy-stalker. She'd talked to Logan then, at least, and she noticed that he was hanging around the Slytherin table even though apparently he was a Puff like Isabel had been. She sent him a grin, though, before turning back to Patrick innocently as he'd decided to question the bag she'd shoved toward him. "I ran out of truffles," she said simply. He knew her, and besides, she'd already told him that. She had been scared by the train stopping, and needed chocolate. That meant she'd find it at any cost. Even almost falling off the seat again as the Ministry guy had shown up with the portkeys.
At least he'd brought her other chocolate with him, and she'd grinned again as he'd handed her the boxes. Especially as he'd reminded her about the big owl he'd made over the summer and agreed to give to her. She'd definitely have chocolate for a while now. "D'you know when it's getting here?" She figured that would take a lot of owls to transport, unless it was coming some other way. She didn't think anything other than owl mail got into Hogwarts, though, and everything else that had gone on distracted her from wondering too much. "But I can't help it. There's lots of questions," she replied, tilting her head slightly as he'd expressed worries about the board of governors. "Didn't some of them teach here for a while though? And that one guy runs the Three Broomsticks. They shouldn't want to do anything too evil to us, and Roro's not here anymore either." Therefore the dragon shouldn't be causing anything bad either, since she was pretty sure Professor Williamson had taken him with him. Text Cut: Touzy!!!! Quote:

But those ELVES were FOLLOWING her. Some might even view it as CHASING. So basically, Lainey RAN from them with a battle cry on her lips, "BAAARRRRRRRBEEEEQUUUUEEEEEEEEEE!" She might have gotten away from them, too, but she only managed one lap around the Slytherin table before she decided she was too old for this. That trunk she was carrying was heavy.
So time to ditch the trunk.
Then re-start the merry chase with those Soon-To-Be-BBQ'd-Elves. "I need to see WEST ODESSA, anyone that has information about a missing beater's bat named MORTIMER, and some House Elf Repellant. STAT." Her ideas about things at Hogwarts not being different seemed to be trying to be proved wrong, however, as first the house ghosts seemed to be appearing along with the house elves having come in with the awesome pink plant for the new headmistress. She'd sent the Bloody Baron a grin, hazel eyes scanning to see which other ghosts had made an appearance as well. They were pretty awesome too, and she wanted to talk to a ghost some time. The Baron didn't seem to want to be too talkative, though, so she stuck to just a grin, going back to playing with one of the pink streaks in her hair. At least Mika hadn't pounced yet, preferring to wreak havoc over by the silenced younger students and then apparently disappear. Leaving her, her newly acquired boxes of chocolates, and Patrick alone. And she contemplated actually eating some non-chocolate food, reaching out to take a chicken leg as she heard someone loudly talking about barbeque. Looking up, she abandoned the food as she watched one of the board people heading past her talking about West Odessa and missing beaters bats. Okay, maybe they aren't all normal and safe, she thought. The woman was kind of interesting though, and she'd swiveled around to continue watching the odd parade chase thingy even as West had waved a hand in the air. Not speaking, but then she remembered he'd been one of the ones Professor Scabior had silenced. That had nothing to do with her, and neither did Mortimer the missing bat. There was still one thing she wanted to ask about, anyway. "Why do you want house-elf repellent?," she asked the board member lady. She liked the house elves. "And what are you barbequeing?" That had been the odd thing she'd noticed first, after all, and that reminded her about how she'd been going to eat some actual food before it disappeared. Therefore, she went back to the chicken leg and took a bite while she waited for her answers.
