Oakey felt like he was doing really well with this verbal duel. He turned Elijah's own insult against him, plus he had a small single person peanut gallery in the form of Nate Jone. he shot the third year a look that hopefully would give Nate the clue to sit down. He appreciated the gesture, but again this was between him and the Maniac. How was he supposed to prove he wasn't a boy anymore when you've got a younger kid backing you up?

he was about to deliver Elijah a verbal onslaught when suddenly Elijah dropped out of sight, along with a very loud name calling of TWIT! Wondering what it was the pulled his opponent down to the ground Oakey hopped down from his chair and into the aisle between his and the other House Table (ooc: not sure who is next to us)

Hey wasn't that the Head Girl, the one he helped retrieve a cat for, and Vickers was with her. He didn't look to pleased and neither did Louisa, that didn't stop him giving them a friendly wave, "GOOD ONE LOUISA!" He called out.

Leave!?!? What no! Oakey had one last thing he wanted to say to Elijah, before the Head Girl could drag him away Oakey marched forward and looked the Maniac straight in the eye. "Elijah Wilde, I want a duel!" Oakey jammed his index finger into the older hufflepuff's chest. "No boots, and no bowling." Elijah was slightly taller than he was so he had to look up some. "I'm sick of playing games with you and I want to settle this once and for all!"
Where had Oakey gone and who switched this Gryffindor in his place? No, it was still Oakey, he just didn't want to be taken lightly and treated like a child anymore by his peers. What better way than to put Elijah in his place by winning against him in a duel!

Just when he was about to roll his eyes and shake his head wondering where the Curly One was going with this he suddenly heard 'a wee date'

Again, Vickers stands agape beside Elijah. This is starting to become a habit.

"This isnt the time for this Elijah...." he mumbled at his buddy through gritted teeth. At any other time he'd probably appreciate that convenient segue, but right now they are in a rather tricky situation with the Head Girl-- not to mention certain things between the two Ravenclaws are a little.....complicated already.

SPOILER!!: Oakeyyyy

And just when he thought things couldnt get any trickier or more complicated Oakey makes his presence REALLY felt. Piercing blue eyes goes on alert and he nears the two Puffs, ready to get between them in case it turns physical right here right now. "Duels are not authorized anywhere in Hogwarts other than in the Dueling Arena and only with proper permissions." he blurted out all of a sudden. Yeah that was in the school rules... why he says it now he didnt know, must be an attempt to diffuse the charged atmosphere between them.... or once again, may have provided an opportunity for them to really duke it out.

She ignored the boy's remark about everyone against him, she actually had no idea that his own Puffers would shut him up but the Oakey boy's cheer for her was a pretty obvious sign. Louisa couldn't help but smirk and frown at him at the same time, were those two eternal enemies or something? She should dig into this later, now she had more urgent things to deal with...

... like him JUST noticing she was a girl. What was with everyone today insulting her very curvy figure!?!?!!! First the president of Governors and now the curly-head fraud. It must be the tight hair bun she had on the back of her head. With cheeks flushing, from both annoyance and embarrassment (because this boy in less than one minute knew what Louisa exactly... wanted), she walked closer trying to feel all intimidating and stuff, "When I want advice about my personal dating life, I'll make sure to come to you." Sarcasm was her middle name and probably the whole school knew that by now. "But now we--"

The eternal enemy wasn't backing down, it seemed, because the next thing Louisa knew was that Oakey challenged the curly head to a duel. A DUEL! Oh no, not again! Not on her first day and with guests and new headmistress around! Vickers beat her to them though, she felt her frowny face change and her cheeks flush slightly once more when he was all manly and peacemaker-like by moving closer to the boys to prevent a fight and... recite the rule.

Well, he was all macho like for a quick moment, right? Good enough!

"Like rule book said here," she clasped Vickers' back gently and addressed Oakey, "No duels. No fights. No mouthing off." Only she was allowed to do that, obviously, "Not even hexing-from-under-the-table. Simple explanation: it's my first day as Head Girl and I don't want it to be ruined." Whether they see that as selfish or illogical or silly, it was the truth. "Instead, Oakey, why don't you rant? Come on... just tell us what he did to deserve this very brave un-Hufflepuff-ish dare from you? Because he's getting a lecture in a minute." And he should rant quickly, because Louisa was a biiiiit impatient.

"Nonsense," Elijah curtly responded to Vickers, certain his reluctance toward him asking was merely out of embarrassment as opposed to genuinely inconvenient timing. After all, Elijah still had no clue as to why they were here.

It was then Louisa who responded to, what Elijah believed to be, the AWESOME date idea and she basically just shot poor Vickers down, albeit in a subtle way. "Well, it wasn't really your personal dating life that was my concern anyway, Louisa. Why won't you go out with Vee? He's a good looking guy and smart. You could use a man like him," Elijah grinned, patting his best friend on the back. "If I was a chick I totally would. You don't want to pass off this stud, Louisa. Truuusttt me." If modeling failed, perhaps sales of some kind would be a profession Elijah could see himself in.

And then there he was. Come to ruin Elijah's life once more. Surely the Huffer could have accepted his removal from their verbal war as some kind of unexpected forfeit? But, no. He wanted to continue blabberrrrinnggg on at him. When the young boy challenged him to a duel, Elijah couldn't help but snort. He'd been too busy laughing to himself to respond straight away, which had given Vickers and Louisa the opportunity to inform Oakey of all the borrrringgg rules.

"Yeah, what they said, chump. Besides, I can't trust that you won't cheat like you did last time and I'm a sixth year now. I can't be playing with little boys who don't know when to shut their trap."

Elijah decided to completely ignore Louisa's invite to Oakey to get his rant on and instead demanded, "Why did you drag me all the way over here again? A lecture? About WHAT!? Classes aren't until tomorrow, Louisa! Not all of us are 'Claws and like to torture ourselves with like... learning and stuff!"

Maybe it was best Vickers didn't go on a date with her. Elijah didn't know if he could cope with hanging around such a studious, man-handling female.
