Emilia began to back off the subject of his family. For this he was greatful. He hadn't tried to be rude but that was just something that he didn't talk about easily. He had to have great trust in someone before he confided all of that in them. Will listened to her talk about her siblings in America. "Why wouldn't it have helped?" He asked. Now he reversed the roles and was asking her questions about her own family. Maybe that was a bit hypocritical of him but he was curious.
William listened to Emilia talk about her two favorite subjects in school. "It sounds as if you really excell in your courses" He said to her with a smile. Will did well in school but he didn't go above and beyond, well except in Potions. He always did his absolute best in Potions. "They really push Defense Against the Dark Arts at Durmstrang, perhaps that's what it is not my favorite" He told her. Then he listened to her talk about wanting to reach the animagus form. "Thats great! Way to be an over achiever" He said with a joking laugh. He really was impressed.
The tension eased as Emilia transitioned subjects. That was interesting, and something she took mental note of. Apparently something had happened, but she wouldn't press it. However, as he began to asked about her family, made a face. Her family was complicated and while she was close to her siblings that didn't mean it would have been a good idea to stay with them. "Well, my older sister is always traveling- literally a new location every week," she explained. "And my brother... well, my parents didn't want him to have charge of me," she said, closing the door on that topic.
Emi shot him a grin. "I make sure of it," she said, leaving that open to interpretation. She studied hard, but some of it just came naturally. "Oh really? I think I remember hearing that about them. How come, if you don't mind me asking," she said, propping her chin on a hand. A coy smile slipped onto her lips. "Thanks, I do try," she said with a regal nod. She had actually already started the research for it- she and her friends had intended to be animagi before graduating, now she was even more determined.
