But then again it was lovely to see all the ickle firsties being sorted and welcomed into their houses. Really the cutest. The blonde would miss that sooo much. Someone should video tape the following years for her. Seriously.

Looking around the seventh year hoped to see a familiar face to chat to, nothing better than a nice little chat when you were bored. Unfortunately Cass had fallen asleep at the Slytherin table and the blonde coulnt find Kennedy or anyone there. Hopefully this wouldnt happen to her here, she might would have to go mental otherwise.

Ariadne couldn't believe her eyes. She just noticed someone she hadn't seen in ages approaching the Gryffindor table. 'Fee!' she called. Was it really her? 'Come have a seat.' Slytherins and Gryffindors should stick together, haha. 'How have you been?' And most importantly, where? Not that Ari hadn't been away for a year herself, but she didn't get any updates from her older friend either.

Hug or no hug? She was supposed to be older, but this time she made an exception. Big bear hug it was! Just like the good ol' times...

There was still an obvious tone of nervousness to her voice, but that was mostly due to the aftermath of the train and having to bandage and splint so many students. It had all only proven to Kurumi that a career in Healing was SO not for her. "How are you?"

Again. The compliments. Kurumi's cheeks turned the color of ripe peaches instantly and she couldn't help but chew on the inside of her cheek for a few moments as she tried to compose her body's temperature that was rising like crazy. "I-I-I wouldn't call myself...amazing..." she somewhat mumbled, sounding more like a first year than the seventh year that she was. "Just glad to bring smiles back to all of you, especially after today's events."

Which was soon where the discussion went. "I...I don't know, to be honest," she sighed as she shrugged her shoulders. "The Hogwarts Express runs on different sorts of magic than those monitored by the Ministry...or so I've read... but it seems, odd...the train breaking down, having all those visitors..." She trailed off as her eyes drifted towards the staff table. A table that was looking to be very VERY crowded this term.

Ari knew the feeling. It was wonderful to be back, especially considering that her absence had been longer than for most students. 'Not too bad myself, thank you. Though still a bit overwhelmed after today.' Who wouldn't be? 'Did you have a good summer?' Maybe it wasn't a good question to ask, since Kurumi spent her summers going Muggle, but Ari only remembered that AFTER asking the question.

The fifteen-year-old almost didn't catch the word when Kurumi repeated amazing. Why was she shy to take credit for something she'd worked for? 'Your cookies will always taste like home for me.' The only problem was, the Prefect was graduating this year. What then? No more cookies? NOOOOO.

The younger Gryffindor hadn't read much about the Hogwarts Express, so she listened to Kurumi, who, however, was as puzzled as herself.

Sarah said with a dramatic sigh "Can I call your Ari?" Sarah asked. The girl's real name sounded hard to pronounce, never mind spell.

"Hello Alexa" she said to the first year who came in and announced her arrival. That girl was brave, Sarah remembered how meek she had felt at the welcoming feast last year.

Then she saw another fellow lion that she had had a whole conversation in the dorm with last year, "Hello Tiffany!" she said to the girl.

Then Sarah leaned forward and said in a stage whisper "I think the Hogwarts Express rebelled against the Board of Governers who were riding on it. Maybe Hogwarts was meant to be left alone. Yet, don't get me wrong, I am thankful to the BoG for making sure things are good here, yet isn't accompannying us on the train a bit overprotective? Unless it was staged..." There she was jumping to conclusions...

The younger Lioness was taking this pretty well, but Ari was still worried for her. 'Are you sure you don't need to go to the Hospital Wing for some medical care?' You could never be too careful, but on the other hand, from what Ariadne had heard, the Healer wasn't very friendly.

The fifth year nodded. She was fine with Sarah using the shorter version of her name. 'Most people do call me that. Friends, especially.' she said with a small smile.

Wow! Sarah was definitely a creative Gryffindor. The whole Hogwarts Express story made Ari giggle, but what if it was true? Nah...a train couldn't rebel against its passengers, even in the wizarding world. 'It might have something to do with the Board of Governors, but I don't think the train itself is to blame.' And that came from a person who hated trains.

Another familiar face joined the Gryffindor table. Ari waved at the girl but she seemed a bit worse for wear. 'Are you ok?' she mouthed in Arabella's direction, who was sitting a little further away from her.

Now was just a time to calm down from the stress and excitement.
He looked around for any familiar faces including his two fellow leaders and just watching any of the newer ones who appeared to have joined their ranks in the sorting. Kurumi was there already though Selina was still absent.

Gideon frowning slightly wondering where she was. Shaking it off, he figured it was as good a time as any to say hello. "Hello everyone," he greeted still standing as he offered a polite smile. "Welcome!" he added before taking a seat finally.

And here came the other Prefect. It dawned on Ariadne that although she had seen him around the castle many times, she still didn't know him personally. That should be remedied. She nodded when the boy greeted everyone at the table and waited for him to sit down before she could introduce herself.

'Sorry to barge in like this, I just realized it was weird that we haven't met before. I'm Ariadne Marchbanks, fifth year.' I know who YOU are.

She just hoped the new Headmistress would be quick about giving her speech, because after all the stuff that had happened, she was hungry again. Thankfully. Because it seemed like the whole day she hadn't been hungry. SOMETHING had taken away her appetite.

But right now she didn't want to think about it as she took an empty spot at the table. Right now, she just wanted to eat and then go to her dorm and sleep.

Whilst chatting happily, Ariadne glimpsed a housemate who seemed more quiet than the others. Waving to the girl, she asked: 'How are you doing? Did you land in Hogsmeade unscathed?' It had been the first time for Ari to travel via Portkey, but she had arrived safe and sound on the platform in Hogsmeade.

Finally he was here at school and ready to start the classes that he had heard about from the magical side of his family.

Ha! She had known it all along. There was no other House besides Gryffindor where this boy truly belonged. Ariadne clapped loudly when Dylan joined the table. 'Congratulations and welcome to Gryffindor! How was the boat journey?' she asked.
