She was just setting her trunk down when the lights started.. flickering? Okay, that was odd. They flickered again. Really odd. "Is it, er, just me? Or are we... slowing down?" She tried her best not to show how freaked out she was.

She sat in silence for a bit, trying to calm down. If anything wanted to get them, they would have already done so. Wouldn't they?

It seemed not long after that that a woman's REALLY LOUD voice was heard. She clutched her ears in mild pain, before sitting down immediately. Well. She was already sat down, so she basically stood up and sat down again. Right.

Weirded out by all the distractions, Kate went to put her brand new Hogwarts robes on. Then, she got out a book and began reading. She was just getting to a really good chapter, when herself and her barn owl Apollo were hurled violently to the floor. She got up gingerly.
Well then, first year begins.
