This term was ALREADY starting off somewhat horribly. She had dealt with lunatic first years scaling the side of the train, then people didn't know where Mortimer was and now she had went to the food trolley on her way over to the prefect compartment and found that they were fresh out of licorice wands. What had the redhead done to deserve such a cruel fate? The world was out to get her. She could have dealt with crazy first years and the lack of licorice wands. But when you take away a woman's beater bat THAT was when things got personal. It had been all summer without her bat and she was starting to get very, very impatient with the whole ordeal.
So as she pulled back her
headband in frustration, Selina tried to convince herself that her luck was about to change. Pretty soon she would be in the prefect compartment with her friends and her not-so-friends, but there would be cookies. Cookies made everything better and since Selina did not mame those first years like she had threatened she supposed that it meant that she was off the hook with Kurumi. Which meant that the Gryffindor girl had better have cookies awaiting her. One did not simply joke about having cookies. Especially not with someone like Selina.
Bursting through the prefect compartment doors, Selina scanned everyone in the compartment looking for one person inparticular,
"Oi Hollingberry. Cookies... please tell me you have them." It had been a rough day and she was not up to really being sociable until she got her cookies in hand. But as she marched over to her friend she said hello to everyone on her way.
The large smile was sent in the way of her fellow captains, Milton and Nessie,
"Hey guys, good summer?" She genuinely liked all of the captains. The redhead supposed that it had a lot to do with the fact that they all had something that Selina really loved in common- Quidditch. Just past Nessie was Sierra Griengoth with her usual sour pout,
"Griengoth," she nodded. Not much more to say there. Then she saw Gideon and gave him a small smile,
"Hello there." They would talk later. Besides, she was on a cookie mission. AND ONLY KURUMI HAD THE COOKIES. Speaking of cookies, she was about to sit down beside Kurumi when she saw Louisa. With a smile she said,
"Oh hello Louisa."
Then Selina sat down beside Kurumi and put out her palm awaiting some form of nourishment. She didn't hurt those first years... now it was time to pay up. And Selina knew that Kurumi always kept her stash of
emergency-Selina-cookies on her person during the school year. Well, now was a brilliant time to take 'em out.
Suddenly feeling like she was forgetting something, Selina looked up around the room and saw three older faces. One of the women looked very familiar to her, but not because she had seen her before but because she had seen the features before. The redheaded woman was a complete stranger and so was the man.
"Oh hello there. Sorry I missed you. Cookies. You understand." Cookies were universal.
Her eyes shot open in shock when it finally clicked what Selina had been missing. She looked between all of the older members in the compartment and exclaimed,
"Oh my! I am so sorry! I had almost forgotten!" She dug deep into her sachel and pulled out flyers,
"Have any of you seen my bat? And, er, excuse the typo... it was two thousand and seventy-eight." Not 2088... Selina was so worried she forgot to double check. COULD YOU BLAME HER? THIS WAS SERIOUS!
