"Here we are," her mother said as they reached platforms 9 and 10. Beth hardly wanted to stop. She wanted to keep walking right on through. "Best let your father go through with your things first. We'll follow right after."
Beth blew a puff of air up through her bangs in frustration. She didn't want to wait. They'd already fought their way through muggles as inconspicously as possible and now she had to wait ever more before she could see the Hogwarts Express. Life just wasn't fair.
She watched as her father casually approached the barrier, and without once changing his gate or expression, walked right through the wall. Beth couldn't help but look around to see if any of the muggles had noticed. It didn't look like it.
"Our turn," Beth whispered excitedly as her mother took hold of her hand and they approached the barrier. Her mother kept her eyes down on the station map she'd grabbed as a prop and a tight hold of Beth's hand as they walked on through. |
