The sixteen year old opened her mouth to retort to her father, but she did not get the chance when Gideon gave him an answer of his own. There was nothing but the truth in Gideon's answer and she hoped that her father saw that as well, although Selina herself was not particularly fond of the way that Gideon was talking about his visit. He kept using the word fault, which she felt was unfair. Having her boyfriend visit was not a bad thing and he was a good person. It was not like they were doing anything bad, so she was offended that Gideon was put in the position by her father to apologize.

Her father often said that she had a lot of her mother in her, so she was going to prove it. With a huff, she crossed her arms over her chest and puffed her chest out to show that she was not pleased with the situation at hand. Cutting Gideon off toward the end of his unnecessary apology, Selina said, "First of all, this situation is no one's fault. Dad, my boyfriend stopped by for a visit and we aren't doing anything bad. He's allowed to come and visit... do you not trust me or something?"

The boy was smart, Jake would give him that much. He had known that when Jake had posed that question for his daughter he was indirectly pointing it at the kid to explain himself. The kid had taken it in stride, but Jake was still not convinced. Jake was a boy once, he knew better then to believe everything that they said most of the time. He was going to tell Gideon this, when his daughter jumped into the conversation. With each of her sentences, he tried to cut her off, but she just kept talking and talking until he had no choice but to listen to her.

His eyes bugged out of his head when his daughter implied that he did not trust her,"No-no. I trust you... I just... you see... Don't you turn this around on me! I am just trying to look out for you." Because if he did not look out for Selina she would consistently get herself into sticky situations with everything in her life.
