Picking out a couple of toothpick type match stick things, whatever one wanted to call them, Isabelle held them aloft for all to see. "Now, this is what you will be using to create your coracle AND the paddle. Two new spells for you all. I'll demonstrate now, then you can come and collect some of these for practice." Giving herself some room, she placed one down on the floor and looked up to make sure they were all paying attention. "This is the spell for the coracle...." Flicking her wand out, Issy pointed it downwards and did a full circle above the small stick. "Vegrandis Navis!"
Almost immediately the stick began to curl around and join it's ends together, before expanding outwards and filling in the gaps underneath. After a few seconds the bottom of the coracle sealed itself and a fully formed one sat on the ground in front of her, with just enough space for one person. Smiling, she looked up. "There, a simple enough wand movement as you can see. But quite a long spell. You need to add the emphasis on the IS portion of both words - Vergrand-IS Nav-IS. We'll get to the paddle a little later, but for now stick with this, and try to keep them about the same size as these two I made. Come and get some little sticks and you can start. Any questions, please ask."
OOC: Follow all IC instructions carefully! I'm off to bed, but Issy is still there, so I'll answer any questions tomorrow. ^__^
Sarah quickly wrote notes, first abouta coracle and then on the actual spell. She then took out her wand - like all new spells this had to be learned in steps. This time wand movement was first. With wand in hand, Sarah made a circle around a stick, she did it a few times until her wrist started to ache. Happy with her progress she decided to try the incantation:Vegrandis Navis! First she stretched her mouth just so, no tight tongues will work! "Vregrandis Navis" she said - wrong! She had swapped the V and E around! "Vergrand-IS Nav-IS", she tried again - this time it worked! She tried it again and again until she was sure it was perfect. Now she had to combine the two "Vergrand-IS Nav-IS" she said, while making a circle with her wand around a stick, while visualising what was meant to happen. The stick started to curl up... it was working...
