Curiosity soon settled inside the young lion's mind. "Is it a good or bad letter?" John asked. He just wanted for his best friend, to finally have some peace. He's been through a lot, but no matter what John was going to stand by his side and help him in any way possible.
Typical Johnathan, only hearing key words instead of everything that was being said. "
I...don't know," he said, turning the letter in his hands. He should just open it now. Get it over with and go have some breakfast. He nodded to himself, very well knowing that John didn't see that nod.
"But I'm going to open it now."
With that said, he glanced around the room and made sure no one was presence. The last thing he wanted was to start rumors. He took out the paper inside the envelope - his mother refused to use rolled up parchment - and began reading...
Kennedy paused. Allowing what he read so far to settle in. She lied, about what? It was when he read his name that made his stomach tighten and cold sweat run down his back.
Kennedy stopped reading there. His hands were shaking, making the words on the paper dance. His temples were also throbbing, his head feeling as if it was being pressed between a vise. His mother lied. She lied about everything for seventeen years.
Fury was quickly added to the feeling of disappointment. He crumpled the letter in his hand not bothering to read the rest.
"She lied," he muttered.
