And this was the reason why he didn't teach. This was the reason! Kids were crazy.
Screaming, FAINTING, and throwing off spells just over a few little Bowtruckles. Okay, so there
were more than a few, but still. He wondered what they would have done if they were really in trouble. Shaking his head, just glad that none of those creatures had latched onto him, they were painful little things, Waylon handed over the open bucket of wood lice to Vickers and immediately popped open the lid to the other.
He had absolutely no idea what he was supposed to do now, but thankfully, William came when he did and.. he even managed to pick up the fainted girl. Unless the girl was just playing dead, but surely she knew that that was not the way to get those critters to leave you alone.
But back to those critters. Those same critters who just went back into the forest once everyone began working together and feeding them. Huh. That was easy and Waylon GRINNED as he realized he was the reason for them leaving. Also the reason why they were there, but he wasn't going to say that.
SPOILER!!: Callie!

"Mr. Wilde, do you understand how incrediably stupid it is to put on an object you found in the middle of the forest? Does it make sense to you that a random locket you find in the forest would be safe to wear? It isn't!" Calista looked up from the boy, shaking her head incredulously, and gestured for the two other adults to join her with the others looking at the strange artifact. Hopefully the men were knowledgable of jewelry.
"What could this mean? It says, 'Aramantha', do we have one of those here at Hogwarts? The thing looks pretty old." And it did. The gold was all tarnished and the chain was obviously frail and broken now.
And just when he thought
he could leave, he caught sight of Callie RIPPING a chain off that boy with the nice hair's neck and gesturing him over towards them. And not one to pass up the opportunity of being nosy, Waylon placed his now empty bucket onto the ground and moved closer to the group.
He must have missed something. He was slow like that sometimes.
"It could mean that, whoever this Aramantha person is, is now missing their locket." he shrugged his shoulders. He had no idea if there was one of those in Hogwarts. The Professors would know more than him..
