Oakey came in to the Common Room from the Kitchen. He had spent most the day in the Library rather than on the grounds studying more on the Yeti for his DADA project. He would continue his reading further by the fire.

As he walked to the fire he saw Laura Hyde. Hiya Laura Oakey said in his typical upbeat attitude. He plooped down onto the couch and flipped open Year with the Yeti not by Gilderoy Lockhart.Despite how over the top and unnecessary some parts of the book were, this book was okay...It actually gave some useful information about Yeti's and their behavior and habitat.

He looked up from his book after turning the page and watched Laura for a second. She seemed unhappy, but about what? Did she get another detention? It seemed like routine now for her to be in trouble, like the swamp for instance that she clearly made right by Hadley's office.

He sighed and finally decided to speak up. You okay? he asked closing the book, not taking the extra step to mark where he left off.
