So many papers. So many reports. So much reading...

Atticus would have thought that after nearly two years at this job, he would be used to reading and hopefully even like it considering how much of it he had to do. Old habits and dislikes died hard though, and even now he wished he could be doing anything else right now. Watching a flobberworm would surely be a great deal more entertaining. But he had a job to do, and so he picked up another sheet of parchment and began to read...

...when there was a knock at the door.

He set the piece of parchment back down on his desk, stood, and walked to the door, opening it when he reached it. "Oh, hello," he said, greeting the woman standing there with a smile. "Come on in." He stood to the side a bit and pulled the door wide open to let her in.
