Back then he never went to school with Cameron and Dia was busy being home schooled by her mother so he had to watch people being friends with each other and try to fit it--that didn't go very well so he gave up and counted down until the day he would go to Hogwarts and be with his bestfriends. After that he didn't really care to meet new people but now that they all had their jobs they figured it would have been worth it to try getting out there and meeting people. It certainly was worth it, if he hadn't then he wouldn't have met Jade! Somehow he felt happy that she admitted that to him. Cameron once told him that women never admitted anything to men, they admitted it to each other so for her to go and do that said a lot. "Trust me, give it half an hour and you'll feel like you've known them forever." He said, giving her a wink. If that was what concerned her then she would soon be relieved of her worries.
At her go ahead he led her into the dinningroom where he found everyone laughing at something. What had he missed?
"James, so nice of you to join us, how was your little hallway meeting?" Dia asked, flashing him a knowing smile before briefly looking over at Jade. Those two had taken their own time in getting into the room and she was curious as to why. Though she would never actually ask because then Lizzie would have given her an earful and a half! For now she would be fine with teasing it out of him.
Jade looked down at her clothes smoothing them down then looked back up at James. Why was she doing that exactly? Like her clothes being a little ruffled was going to effect their first impressions of her. Unless, of course, they prided themselves on being friends with people who's clothes were smoothed out properly and didn't let them get ruffled. But if that was the case they'd be a little strange for being so particular. Since was anyone that particular. Jade hadn't met anyone like that and she was sure hoping James' friends weren't like that. Wait, her skirt wasn't tucked in at the back was it. Her eyes widened a little at the thought instantly making her look round the back to make sure. She silently breathed a sigh of relief.
Thank you, Merlin she thought silently to herself. Wouldn't want that happening in front of someone she had the hots for now would she! She smiled looking at James as he spoke. So they were the type of people to make people feel at home? That was the way it sounded. And that made her feel a whole lot better about spending time with these people. If they were accepting, she didn't have a problem. She hoped!
"Then I should be fine" she responded confidently making sure not to sound over-confident. Or worse! Cocky! Cockiness was something she really could not stand in people. Those people only came across as arrogant and arrogance was something she'd steer clear of. Unless the person could prove her otherwise.
She followed James into the dining room with a confident smile firm on her face. Was she smiling a little too much? She hoped not! What were they laughing at? Now she felt as though she'd made James miss out on some fun! Hopefully he wasn't thinking the same thing. She raised an eyebrow hearing what Dia had just said. Did she say something back? She had directed it to James after all. She didn't want to sound like she was trying to interfere or something. But if she didn't speak they would probably think she didn't want to be there. She did want to be there. She was happy to be meeting James' friends.
