She was most definitely not alone when it came to that subject, but chocolate was a much happier subject. The grin on her face grew a little at his advice, especially. "Who told you that?," she asked, curious. She had honestly never experienced nightmares from late-night chocolate binges, and she'd had a few in the past. Sleepovers with Risa, mostly, and besides, chocolate had always calmed her down. There was a reason it was part of her amortentia, after all.
His response to her mentioning getting candy for her little brother amused her more, though. She even laughed a little, shifting the candy she was carrying again to make sure it was secure. She couldn't quite tell if he was saying eight-year-olds actually should be running around hyped up on sugar, btu at least it seemed like he was jumping on the idea of helping her with more suggestions. She'd deal with the fallout later, and she knew that for a fact. Her parents wouldn't let her hear the end of it if Carter was bouncing off the walls for the entire holiday break, that was for sure. "So fizzing whizzbees, chocolate frogs, jelly lugs and sugar quills," she replied, nodding slightly as her eys scanned around for the items in question. "I'd oddly been at least thinking about getting some jelly slugs, actually. But thank you for verifying I wasn't completely insane for thinking of them, and thank you for the help, too." Maybe he needed to get some for himself, too.
Hmmmmmm. Did Stella not BELIEVE his chocolate fact? "Why?" He poked her shoulder. "You skeptical of the veracity of my chocolate knowledge?" Paulie asked, an eyebrow quirking up in suspicion. He then gave her an easy smile, though, and shrugged. "My mum told me." Yeah, the woman had a lot of those kind of cautious tidbits. It was most likely just her way of getting him to cut back on the sugar. Heh.
He nodded as she repeated the very candies he'd just listed for her moments ago. "Yep, you got it." See? She had already considered Jelly Slugs, so clearly his other suggestions were good ones, too. She seemed intent on getting those sweets now, and even though Paulie was doing his best to limit his time in here so that he'd keep himself from spending a ton of money on sweets, he accompanied her on over to the next aisle with her. "So, what's been new with you?" He grabbed some packages of Fizzing Whizbees and offered them to her.
