"Yup see look at that little guy.. showing all of them he aint so little.. its good to fight for yourself! well done little guy!" he said to that little duck as he smiled and watched that little duck eat that big chunk of bread.. he then looked at Ella to see that she was looking at him.. "New with me? to be honest.. nothing is new with me.. except the match.. and now hanging with you. Otherwise I have just been working and just been around.. doing nothing much! you could say I am pretty boring when I am on my own" he smiled as he looked back at the ducks "They are probably more entertaining than me! look at em go.. attacking all that bread!" he chuckled as he watched them fight over the last few pieces of bread that were left floating in the water.
"Good." The second year said in response to his promise to be there for her matches. It made her feel better, especially since her nerves had been on overdrive since the start of practice earlier in the day. She just didn't want to make a complete fool of herself. She really hoped she wouldn't.
She nodded as Harvey began talking about the ducks again, her attention on the same subject. The blonde couldn't help but notice that people were sometimes like that too, focused so much on food that all communication ceased. That was what Thanksgiving was like at the Bishop household. Once plates were full, talking stopped. The thought of thanksgiving brought a frown to Ella's face and she turned away for a moment, trying to shake off the heavy feeling that was now in the bottom of her stomach. Turning around again, she was happy to hear Harvey had noticed the little duck too.
"It is good to stick up for yourself. It's also good to stick up for friends." The second year was just stating facts really as she watched the ducks some more.
"I'd like to think I'd be able to do what that little duck did." Standing up to the bigger ducks and all...only when Ella was the little duck in her elementary school she hid from the bigger ducks, to afraid to fight. She couldn't help but regret it a little.
Attention back on Harvey, she was surprised that nothing was new with him. Surely him and Ameliah had done something fun lately, yeah? Or he had gone around the castle exploring? It just wasn't okay that he thought himself boring.
"You're not boring, Harvey. Or at least I don't think you are." Shrug. She joined in his laughter at his next comment about the ducks.
"But you're right, they are pretty interesting."
