"You three," she called out, eyeing them as she approached. "What's going on?" In other words, explain yourselves and make it quick.
She spared the plant a look. It was safe.. thank Merlin for them.

Heart beating at its full pace, João had just stopped and turned around to see if the plant had really moved when he was hit from the behind quite forcefully. He shrieked this time, and fell on his back with whatever hit him under his body. Although, that girl had got him up almost caringly. She also knew his name. To make it worse, the boy was a Slytherin. Why hitting another Slytherin, in front of a PROFESSOR, who was sure to deduct points for disturbing the class?! His confusion turned into anger. Putting more distance between himself and the plant and that over-excited ram-like boy; he said, in an attempt to beat them to answering Professor Bentley: "She--she made fun of my obvious reservation about this plant and he hit me on purpose from behind. So my wand shooted blindly." A quick, effective summary. See? He was COMPLETELY innocent!
