Hogwarts RPG Name: Bellamy Sansjoy Tain Fifth Year | Bellamy slunk into the library, clutching his chosen book for the evening. If it was possible for an inanimate object to look tired of life itself, this book seemed like just that. All the colors that might have once existed upon its cover had been washed out into varying dull grey hues and scratches and water-stains morphed the entire shape so that not a single straight edge could be found.
Though his parents had both been muggles, the book had been an heirloom gift from his decidedly magical (and unfortunately named) Auntie Aubergine. Titled, "Petal by Petal", the story was perhaps a bit darker than more contemporary children's works, but it relayed a moving message nonetheless: flowers might have sentience, and with that sentience a longing to kill humans. It always made him think whenever he stepped on a dandelion.
He filled out a card with his free hand... Quote:
Name: Bellamy S. Tain
Year: 5
House: Slytherin
... and silently took a seat in the circle. Upon realizing that others had already begun to explain their books, he thought quickly on what to say. "My favorite novel as a child was 'Petal by Petal' by Gregora Blit. It's a bit old but-" a page fluttered to the ground as if to prove this exact point. He hastily pushed it back in and continued, "But it's quality. An old lady goes out one day to pick the all the roses in her backyard and puts them in a little vase in her bedroom. As the flowers wilt, they release carbon monoxide, and the old lady - who never opens her window - eventually suffocates. The lesson is of course not to pick flowers. I don't to this day."
