Aspen... well... at least he DID know her name. Lots of people didn't. She returned the smile and was ABOUT to ask him to be her partner... but he had someone else in mind.
That was okay. She'd catch him later about her business she had with him.

She couldn't work alone apparently.

Aspen considered attempting to go work alone anyway and just being REALLY quiet about it. If she didn't screw up, maybe the Professor wouldn't even notice. But then, WEST was THERE and no doubts watching. She'd need to set the right example.
Sigh.
"I don't have a partner yet."
